What is Escapada Lingüística?
It’s a short-term immersion program (from 2 to 7 days) where you dive fully into Spanish language and culture. Organized by the language academy LINGUALLOGY.
Where will the next retreat take place, and what’s it like?
The next retreat kicks off on May 16 (Friday) in Penedès, Sant Pau d’Ordal. 📍
On May 16, we’ll arrive at a beautiful 12th-century estate (don’t worry, it’s been renovated twice, last time very recently!). The house has 10 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, offering a comfortable stay. Once we settle in, we’ll officially start our amazing retreat! 🤩
When you arrive, we’ll welcome you with drinks and a light lunch in a relaxed atmosphere so everyone can get to know each other and ease into the experience. Later in the evening, we’ll have our first class.
Participants are divided into two groups: A1–A2 and B1–B2.1, with levels determined in advance.
After class, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner, chat in Spanish, and even try singing a couple of songs with a guitar (don’t worry, we’ll keep you motivated and make sure everyone sticks to Spanish ☝).
The first day is all about settling in, relaxing, and already getting in plenty of Spanish practice.
Day 2
In the morning, before breakfast, you can join a light workout and meditation session to kickstart your day with good energy! If you’d rather sleep in a little, no problem—we’ll see you at breakfast.
What’s for breakfast?
You’ll have a choice of: Oatmeal with berries, fruit, and nuts, eggs or tortilla, traditional Catalan toast with tomato, cured meats, cheese, yogurt, and drinks like tea, coffee, water.
We aim for a balanced and nutritious menu 😊 so you feel great, stay energized, and absorb new knowledge effortlessly. Our goal isn’t just to help you learn Spanish and practice as much as possible, but also to help you recharge physically and mentally. 🧘
After breakfast, we dive into our first Spanish session of the day (90 minutes).
Then, we’ll take a walk through the vineyards🍇 to visit a local winery, where we’ll learn all about the production of wine and cava—and, of course, enjoy a tasting 🍷.
Back at the house, a delicious, hearty lunch awaits (salads, appetizers, and a meat or fish main course). 🧑🍳 After lunch, you’ll have free time to relax, take a walk in the village, chat with other participants, nap, or do whatever you feel like.
In the evening, we’ll have another Spanish session, followed by dinner, and then… an unforgettable night of Spanish songs by the fireplace. 💃
The morning starts just as actively 💪 as the day before (depending on what time people went to bed!). Light workout, breakfast, and class.
After class, we’ll hop on bikes and ride to meet the horses for a beautiful horseback ride through the vineyards (on horseback 🏇 and in a carriage). Those who want to can also take part in the “Magic of the Horse” experience.
Afterward, we’ll bike back to the house, tired but happy, have lunch, and around 4–5 PM, we’ll wrap up the retreat—with a little sadness that it went by so fast, but excited for the next one! 😜
Who’s organizing this retreat?
I’m Ilya Gerasimets, a philologist and linguist with 17 years of teaching experience, and a certified DELE examiner for levels B1–C2. I’ve been living and working in sunny Spain since 2010.
My expertise in language learning from a neuropsychological perspective helps me create the most effective programs and environments. With this knowledge, I founded Linguallogy, an online language school, 8 years ago. Since then, we’ve been teaching Spanish and other languages to individuals, groups, and companies.
